Are you interested in the pet niche? Are you currently researching what kind of products to sell in your pet dropshipping store or how other pet dropshipping stores look like? Well, that's great! In this article, I will show you amazing pet niche dropshipping store & product examples! This will surely help you to get started!

Why do people do dropshipping in the pet niche?

Let's start this pet niche example article by learning why people start dropshipping stores in this niche.

I will use some of the steps of this article of mine here:

How to Find out If a Dropshipping Niche Could Be Profitable in 2023?

This way, I will find out why people open pet dropshipping stores! Keep in mind that the pet niche is a really broad niche. If you want a more narrow niche inside the pet niche, then you're looking at these niches:

  • Dogs
  • Cats
  • Snakes? Haha, you get where I'm going with this; focusing on one specific pet instead of all.

And you can even focus more narrowly, for example, only focussing on one breed of dog like the bulldog.

If you're just beginning, then going a bit broader with your niche is, in my opinion, better. (More information about that here)

Or you're super crazy about, for example, bulldogs and you love them so much haha, then you could use that knowledge to open the best bulldog dropshipping store ever!

Now that you know that let's continue by figuring out why dropshippers like the pet niche so much.

Let's start by taking a look at Google Trends:

Why do people do dropshipping in the pet niche?

I added the term ‘dropshipping' there so you can see how many more people search for ‘dogs' or even ‘pet'. Just look at this screenshot that I showed before about the popularity of dropshipping:

But even dropshipping says 1 now after being compared to these other search terms like ‘dog and ‘cat'.

What can you take out of this?

  • There is demand inside this niche; people are searching a lot, but as you can see, it won't show you the “whole picture”, because ‘pet' and ‘pets' are giving different results. That is because Google Trends only gives results for that exact search term!

So keep that in mind when searching for your own niche. Try filling in a few different keywords inside the niche that you're researching.
  • There is a demand for it throughout the year. This is a so-called steady or evergreen niche. Just take a look at the example below on what the opposite will look like:

But you will not always see it like that example, so here is another one for you:

As you can see, ‘Valentine's Day‘ is only popular around… Valentine's Day!

The next one I checked is the competition to see if there are stores inside this niche that are looking like they are profitable (great design, faster shipping in the US, a lot of followers, and so on).

Just take a look at this store called Meowingtons:

Screenshot of their homepage

If you're interested in learning more about Meowingtons, then I suggest reading my other article here as well.

Did you know that there are a lot of pet niche dropshipping stores out there?

Some are broad and some even more focussed on only one pet, like cats as above, I'll give you one more great looking example below that I found by typing in ‘pets + myshopify.com' in Google.

The only thing is that I'm not sure if they are dropshipping or not (they are looking more like a normal Shopify store), but I thought it's still a great example so you can see that there are great looking broad pet stores out there as well:

Screenshot of their homepage

You can check out the Shopify store yourself here.

I think by now, you know that people are making money inside this niche and that people are searching a lot of things around this niche on Google (a lot more than about dropshipping, haha).

Don't forget to check out my other article here so you can do all these steps (and more) yourself as well! I'll go over things like checking if free traffic is possible and checking Amazon.

The list of 7 pet niche dropshipping store examples

I'll split this article up into two parts. The first one will include pet niche dropshipping store examples, and the other one will include pet products that you can dropship!

Keep in mind that this article is for your inspiration only, please don't copy everything these dropshipping stores created. You will not make it as a copycat.

Get it? We are focusing on the pet niche here, and you don't want to be a copyCAT there!

Haha, alright but seriously, if you do that, then it will be a lot hard later on to beat your dropshipping competition.

So, let's get started with the pet dropshipping store examples!

Below you will find a whole list of examples! But don’t worry, I won’t just post a few links to some stores and call it a day.

I’ll give you some things to look at for every pet dropshipping store on the list.

You will surely get a lot of inspiration for your own (pet) dropshipping store.

Let’s go!

Important reminder: These examples are intended to inspire creativity and innovation in building your own brand.

While it can be helpful to learn from successful businesses, it is essential to avoid simply copying their strategies and ideas. Instead, strive to create a unique brand that sets your business apart and resonates with your target audience.

1. Cats on Catnip

Pet Niche Dropshipping Store Examples: Cats on Catnip

The first pet niche dropshipping store example is called Cats on Catnip.

This one looks like a professional store, right? They even got almost 200,000 followers on Instagram!

You can find their Instagram page here

Here are some things that you can look at:

  • Their design. I was second-guessing at first if they were even dropshipping at all. Their design doesn't look like the normal dropshipping store design! It looks great, right?
  • They got a mission. They are building a real brand here. Just take a look at what you can find at the bottom of their product pages:

2. Pet Clever

Pet Niche Dropshipping Store Examples: Pet Clever

Let's continue this list with a pet niche dropshipping store called Pet Clever.

I guess you could guess their niche already by their name (and because of the article subject); no need for me to name it, haha!

Here are some things that you can look at:

Screenshot of their homepage (second slide image)
This screenshot is taken here
  • They created a YouTube video on how to order something in their store. They put this video at the bottom of their FAQ page:
Easy Steps To Place An Order At Pet Clever

3. Amazingly Cats

Pet Niche Dropshipping Store Examples: Amazingly Cats

The next dropshipping store example on this list is called Amazingly Cats.

As you might have guessed already by the name of the screenshot of their homepage, they are cat dropshipping store.

Some things that you can look at here:

  • A lot of cat products. They got a lot of different cat products in their store. But I do suggest if you're just beginning, that you only focus on 1-3 products at the same time!
  • What I don't like is the color design of their store, but that could be me as well. To be fair, I'm not their target audience, but just take a look and see if you like the color design or not.

4. Ez Pet Life

Pet Niche Dropshipping Store Examples: Ez Pet Life

The next pet store on this list is Ez Pet Life. This store is also focussed more on cats than pets in general.

Here are some things that you can look:

  • Their homepage. Take a look at their homepage and scroll down. Looks better than most dropshipping stores out there, right? I'm not saying you should create the exact same homepage, but at least take this as inspiration that there is a lot more possible with your homepage! (Here are more examples)
  • They edited their images (at least a bit). They took some time to edit their images. They didn't go all overboard (yet), but they did add this green tag to every first product image of their products, looks original, right?

5. Pet PAWtrol

Pet Niche Dropshipping Store Examples: Pet PAWtrol

The next pet dropshipping store example is a dog store called Pet PAWtrol.

And I must say; their name is quite original!

Here are some things that you can look at here:

  • Their product descriptions. I personally like the bold highlighting of important words, but that could be just me as well. Plus, I like the little image on top of every product description of theirs:
You can find this product description here

6. Summer Pawz

Pet Niche Dropshipping Store Examples: Summer Pawz

The next pet niche dropshipping store example is called Summer Pawz. This is a store that is more focussed on dogs as you can see on the store name and their products:

Here are some things that you can look at:

  • Their homepage. Take a look at their homepage, and you will understand why I mentioned it! Just not sure if they are really featured on these sites, but it's a great way to increase trust. (If you're really mentioned there)
You can find this post here

7. Harris & Bains Pet Shop

Pet Niche Dropshipping Store Examples: Harris & Bains Pet Shop

The last dropshipping store example in this list is called the Harris & Bains Pet Shop.

This one is going to be a different example than the others. I still included them, but if you want to learn some good things, then I suggest looking at the other examples first.

But you can still learn from what kind of products they sell, and from what I will write down below on things that they can do better.

Here are the things that you can look at:

  • The first thing that I noticed that I don't like is that they got so many popups and things going on on their screen. Just go to their site yourself and check it out; you will see what I mean.

And just take a look at my screenshot above, do you see how many things there are? A 25% discount at the top button, floating cart button at the right, social sharing at the left, push notifications button at the left bottom, and email button at the right bottom with those certificates buttons. A lot, right?
  • Some of their product images could be better. What do you personally think? Do you think that the white background fits with their color design? Or do you think, for example, that the product image from their ‘dog jacket' looks better? (You can click here to learn how to get awesome product images)
I personally think the white background doesn't look great with their store background color (the blue color). It looks a bit weird, right?

The list of 3 pet niche dropshipping product examples

Now that you saw some pet dropshipping stores, it's time to move on to the pet dropshipping product examples!

Below you will find a whole list of examples! I hope these products will help you answer the question, “What to sell?”

Although, I hope you saw some product examples in the example stores as well.

That's the reason that I included more dropshipping store examples than product examples in this article because I'm sure you will get way more inspiration from other stores selling in the same niche!

Did you know a great way to do product research is to search what your competitors are doing and beat them? (Source)

Also, these products are found on Sell The Trend, the screenshots of the products are also taken there.

And one last thing, I won't go in-depth on why these products are great. I just wanted to give you some inspiration! Plus, I will link to a store that is currently selling this product so you can get even more inspiration. Awesome, right?

1. Custom dog photo tag

Pet Niche Dropshipping Product Examples: Custom dog photo tag

The first pet product example is the custom dog photo tag. Take a look at how this store is selling this product:

You can click here to go to their product page and see their full product description.

2. Cat window toy

Pet Niche Dropshipping Product Examples: Cat window toy

The next pet product example is a product for cats. It's a toy that you can put on the window where cats can play with!

Let's take a look at how another store is currently selling this product:

You can click here to go to their product page and see their full product description.

3. Vitamin pacifier for cats

Pet Niche Dropshipping Product Examples: Vitamin pacifier for cats

Alright, this one might look a bit weird, but the stats don't lie! Look at that; 22 popular stores are currently selling this product.

Plus, Sell The Trend estimated that this product got more than 1000 orders already. That's less than the other examples above, but still more than one order, haha!

Here is one of the Shopify stores that is currently selling this product:

You can click here to go to their product page and see their full product description.

Conclusion

I hope the pet dropshipping stores and products will help you further if you were stuck!

Just please don't forget to not copy everything they do. Take it as inspiration and go through their dropshipping store looking at what you can do better, for example, I did the same for my other article called 5 Bad Dropshipping Store Examples & What They Can Improve!

Plus, please don't pick this niche if you don't like pets! It will be really hard for you to convince customers to purchase from you if you don't like pets at all. And how are you going to push through the hard times when you can't even research your niche because you hate it?

So, if you think, after reading this article, that the pet niche is nothing for you, then don't forget to check out these 25 dropshipping niche ideas.

  1. Hello Richard,

First I want to dat a big THANK YOUUUUU! The informacition you provide is amazing!!!!
I am starting on the dropshipping world first because I Really need more money and second because I want to work for me. And it’s very difficult when you don’t have enough knowledge. I have been looking sooo much and everywhere I saw paid courses , but I can’t buy because my money are going for a treatment to my grandfather .
Sooo I was looking and looking for free content and then I found your blog. And especially this article pets niches is sooo good for me. Because I really want to do this type of shop , I LOVE animals and I want one day to have my own reservat where I can take care for all the street dogs and cats , lions , tigers and etc jejeje So everywhere I was reading or looking video they said is not good start the pet niche but I really want. So I will look the examples to get inspiration and I hope this time I have it. I am with this shop from 2 months and I made sooo many mistakes . So I delete everything and I will start again . And thanks of you because you insparate me!
Keep going with this amazing articles . I have a lot of things to read .
But I have 2 question : do you think I made mistake with the name of the shop: withlove4pets? And can I make a mix between pet supplies and print on demand with printfull but with pets picture for example ?
My email became a bit long. I am sorry about that! But I couldn’t hesistate to text you!

    Kind regards ,
    Neti

PS: sorry for the bad English ☺️

    • Do Dropshipping - Author Logo

      Hi Neti,

Thank you so much for your amazing comment! And sorry for my late reply!

I will go over your questions below:

      1. For the store name, I think this part from an article from Namecheap will make it more clear:
      “Numbers make things confusing,

People who hear your domain name might type the digit or they might type out the word. For example, if your company is Three Dog Daycare, would the domain name be 3dogdaycare.com or threedogdaycare.com?”

You can read the article here, which contains a bit more information about adding numbers to your domain name.

      2. Sure that sounds great! Just don’t forget that you will probably need multiple dropshipping suppliers then. (One (or more) for the print on demand products and one (or more) for the other products)

Then you will have to test what works for your audience, maybe at one point you will see that 80% of the sales come from the print on demand products (just an example) and then you can focus more of your efforts towards that (if you want).

I hope that helped you a bit further, and let me know if you ever got any more questions!
      – Richard
